custom payment gateway images not showing, images and logos not showing

i tried creating a custom payment gateway for paystack and hopefully it becomes usable and general but when i added the gateway image in my system.php:

then i uploaded the picture and on checking the checkout image, it's showing broken image, it was showing this as the image src url: http://bagisto.test/checkout/configuration/JVslzSUkhjGYezNntcdW2dFQf1Svx2YwkHdyWmsD.jpg upon checking, the checkout folder isn't there and upon following the url without the checkout in the storage folder, the image is actually there but it's not being renderedalso when i first did a fresh installation, i uploaded the logo and favicon and when i tried to visit the url of the images i get: http://spartapp.test/admin/configuration/general/spartapp.test/storage/configuration/UTyPzSakt19ymwvRzetqHL4M9qPKfCSxz5PnF8cj.png, i added the slash after the app_url, removed it and still got same results
now i've fixed it and sincerely i dont know how, i've tried recreating the solution but i can't seem to get it but this issue of this image should be fixed and added to the documentation
