Multiple / Auto-generated coupons

Is it possible to apply multiple discounts to a cart, i.e a non-couponable and a couponable?

Also is there a way to have auto-generated coupons based on a prefix, so for example a user signs up to a newsletter it should generate a new coupon for that user?
