Opening and closing the attribute option edit modal deletes locale table cells for that row

When trying to edit an attribute option, if you don't click the save option button in the modal, but instead close the modal, the locale values for that table row get deleted. Also if you are using an image swatch, the image gets deletes too.
Even when you click the save option button the image gets deleted. -
