Delivery with Google Maps APIs

Hello everyone!
I am considering using Bagisto for the development of an "online marketplace" for a customer. The client wants the shipping cost to be calculated based on the area where the client is located. This should be done with the google maps api (distance-matrix api).
This is something that can be implemented by creating a new shipping method?
The idea is that at checkout customers select their location with a google map and depending on the area/distance they are in, they will be charged a certain delivery price.
